How Diamond Paints Supports Long-Term Healthcare Access in Pakistan
Ramadan is often associated with compassion, reflection, and a stronger sense of responsibility toward the wider community. For many organizations, this may take the form of seasonal charity efforts or temporary campaigns linked to the spirit of the month. For Diamond Paints, however, social responsibility is not limited to a particular season. Through the Mir Allaudin Welfare Foundation (MAWF), the company has established a long-term welfare initiative focused on healthcare access for underprivileged communities in Pakistan. MAWF is solely funded and managed by Diamond Paints and does not receive donations from the public.
This distinction matters. In a landscape where many welfare efforts rely on public fundraising, MAWF reflects a different model: one of direct ownership, continuity, and institutional commitment. According to the official MAWF page, the foundation was launched in 2013 with the aim of providing charity and welfare to people who cannot afford medical care. Since then, it has been operating a dispensary dedicated to serving underprivileged communities and helping ensure access to essential healthcare regardless of financial circumstances.
The long-term scale of this contribution is significant. Since inception, MAWF has treated 404,644 patients. From 2023 till date, the foundation has treated 74,018 general patients, 3,787 asthma patients, 51,993 diabetic patients, and 11,760 hepatitis patients. These numbers reflect a sustained and active healthcare support system rather than a one-off CSR gesture. They point to a welfare initiative that is addressing real needs in a measurable and continuing way.
The foundation’s focus areas also carry strong relevance in Pakistan’s healthcare context. MAWF supports patients in areas such as hepatitis B and C, diabetes, asthma, and general healthcare. The official page describes diabetic care as ongoing support with regular monitoring, medication, and lifestyle guidance, while asthma treatment includes permanent medication programs and respiratory health support. General healthcare includes daily medical consultations and treatment for underserved communities.
That is where MAWF’s role becomes especially meaningful. Chronic illnesses place long-term financial pressure on low-income households, especially when treatment requires regular medication and follow-up. The MAWF page states that the foundation chose to treat HCV, HBV, diabetic, and asthmatic patients free of charge because healthcare costs can be prohibitively high for many families, and its commitment is to ensure that no one is denied care due to financial constraints.
During Ramadan, such efforts feel particularly relevant because the month emphasizes compassion, dignity, and service. But the real strength of Diamond Paints social commitment lies in the fact that it continues beyond Ramadan. Through MAWF, the company demonstrates that meaningful corporate responsibility is built not only through words, but through long-term action, measurable care, and a genuine commitment to improving lives.
